HBO Developing “Bored to Death” Feature Film
Yay!! HBO is reportedly developing a feature-length film based on the hit series Bored to Death, which as we all know was canceled far too prematurely. Jonathan Ames is, expectedly, writing the film.
HBO, Steven Spielberg Working on Third WWII Miniseries
HBO’s hit shows Band of Brothers and The Pacific will now have a followup, which will be based on historian Donald Miller’s nonfiction work, Masters of the Air: America’s Bomber Boys Who Fought the Air War Against Nazi Germany. We can only guess that the HBO show will have a slightly shorter title. Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg are working on the project so far.
HBO Orders Comedy From “Girls” Writer
Fans of the hit HBO series Girls will be thrilled to hear that one of the writers from that show has been asked to pen a script for an upcoming comedy to air on the network. Girls writer/co-exec producer Bruce Eric Kaplan will write the script for the single-camera show and will executive produce alongside Jason Reitman, who is directing the show’s pilot.
“Paradise Lost” Trilogy to Be Sold as Box Set
Paradise Lost, the powerful documentaries that played a part in freeing the West Memphis Three will be sold as a collector’s edition box set which will be released on November 6. The HBO documentaries helped set free three men—Damien Echols, Jessie Misskelley, Jr., and Jason Baldwin—after spending nearly 20 years in jail for a crime they did not commit.

The head and the hair behind the film Tiny Furniture and the breakout TV show Girls, has sold a book of essays to Random House publishing for $3.7 million. It’s a staggering amount, especially when considering that she’s practically brand new to the entertainment world.

It’s only been three weeks since the third season of Boardwalk Empire started back up, but HBO has already signed the show on for another season, thanks to being extremely-well received. The premiere garnered 2.9 million viewers, and since it aired, 7.9 million viewers have tuned into that episode.
