New Album Announcements: The Avett Brothers, Kanye West, Minus the Bear
Fans of folk rock, hip hop, and indie rock are anticipating the release of three new albums later this summer. First up is Kanye West with Cruel Summer which will feature special guests like John Legend, Big Sean, Kid Cudi, Mos Def, and more. Pusha T revealed on Funkmaster Flex’s radio show that the record will drop on August 7th.

Trevor Rabin of Yes to Release New Solo Album May 8th
Jacaranda is Trevor Rabin’s first new solo project since his album Can’t Look Away in 1989. The extremely versatile artist covers a wide range of styles on the new album, including rock, jazz, and classical. He plays all of the instruments himself, with the exception of drums, for which he brought in noted jazz/rock drummer Vinnie Colaiuta (Sting, Frank Zappa), longtime Rabin drummer Lou Molino III, and his very own son Ryan Rabin (Grouplove).
Kimbra’s U.S. Debut to Feature New Tracks, Touring with Gotye, Foster the People
The New Zealand songstress who found fame in Australia will soon share more of her emotional tracks with the States. While Kimbra has already become well known in the U.S. from being featured on the successful Gotye track “Somebody That I Used to Know,” she’s planning on gaining even more fans by releasing her debut album Vows on May 22nd.

Jack White from The White Stripes has put together several different side projects since the band’s split, but we’ve never had the chance to hear something uniquely his. That will all be changing this year. Blunderbuss is White’s first solo album and it will be hitting music stores on April 24.
